Oskár Nemes Abay


Born in Diószeg, Abay was a top athlete, Hungarian champion in swimming and won a bronze medal at the Olympics in Berlin in 1936. After his sports career, he worked in advocacy and after World War II got involved in politics. After 1956 he defended the revolutionaries. For this act Abay was later persecuted and had to work in a mine where he died after a work accident.
